  1. 1. African culture did begin to change once the Europeans came. The Africans became introduced to Christianity. The Europeans made them forget much of their culture and forced the Africans to adopt Chritianity. The African culture has differences in it because of the Europeans. The Africans lost their religion and that has importance because religion makes up much of a societies' culture. THe Africans still kept some of their original cultures along with the European cultures. So today the African culture has parts from both Europe and their homeland of Africa.

    2. The Europeans did not have the right to force the Africans into a new faith. The Europeans treated the Africans poorly and as inferiors. All people have rights and those rights should be respected. People also shouldn't make people follow their beliefs. Everyone has their own right to follow and believe whatever they want to. No human has the right to force beliefs on another person.

  2. 1.) While Europeans were invading Africa, they were also influencing them. European beliefs, faiths and language were passed to Africa. Europeans did not like some of Africa's' cultural dances, of their faith.

2.) Europeans believed that they were better than the Africans. This belief allowed the Europeans to mistreat the Africans. I disagree with the Europeans trying to convert the Africans to Christianity. The Africans would have had a hard time understanding something that is new to them. How could they have faith in and believe in something they do not totally understand.

  3. 1.African culture began to change real quick onece the European came. The Africans really didnt have a chance to fight for all their religion because the Europeans were stronger and just cruel to the Africans. The Africans today still have their religion but mixed in with European religion to so the Africans have both European and African beliefs.

    2. The Europeans had no right at all forcing the Africans to disbelief their religion to follow theirs. The Europeans treated the Africans really terrible especially forcing them to follow their religion and not theirs.

  4. 1. The African culture developed into a mixture of European traditions and African traditions by having the Europeans destroy the culture of the Africans. The Africans have been building their culture for generations and generations, but the Europeans "overlapped" their culture with Christianity within a couple of weeks. Africans decided to stop following their way of culture and to start new with Christianity. Some Africans converted to christianity while other Africans remained in their culture. The Africans were being baptized after their conversion.

    2. The Europeans tried to convert Africa's religion into Christianity and treated the Africans as a lower class. I disagree with the conversion of the natives to Christianity. It is unfair for the Africans because the Europeans started to take over Africa with violent persuasion and without the African's permission. Also, the Africans were unarmed and had less defense power to resist the Europeans.

  5. 1.It develop into a mixture because the Europeans brought Christianity to the African people. The Africans kept Christianity with them, and they also kept some of their old rituals as well.

    2. Christianity is a good thing, but the Europeans did not have to force the Africans into believing it. They should've given them a choose instead of forcing them.

  6. 1.When European conquered Africa, they tried to spread their beliefs such as Christianity and Social Darwinism. By European spreading their beliefs, African started to lose their own cultures, which were own religions and diverse languages. African had to obey what European said, because they did not want to have war between Europe which was stronger than Africa. So Africa began to accept European culture and mix with their culture(Christianity)

I disagree with the conversion of the Natives to Christianity, because Europeans do not have any right for the conversion of Africans to Christianity. Choosing religion is freedom, so each Africans have freedom to choose their religion. Moreover, Africa has its own religion. Therefore, the conversion of Africans to Christianity is totally wrong way for treating Africans.

  7. 1)Europeans began to change the african culture. Some of the culture of africans was lost while they also learned new things. Some of the african culture is still preserved today. Europeans wanted to convert africans to christianity. Europeans thought of africans as less than human.

    2) It isn't right to convert africans to christianity because africans have the right to believe in whatever they want you shouldnt be forced to believe in something you dont want to. They treated africans unfairly and as a lower class

  8. 1. The Europeans came into to Africa trying to come and change the African culture to Christianity. By doing this the Africans couldn't remember some of their beliefs because the Europeans were forcing them to their beleifs. The reason why the Europeans wanted to change the African culture because the wanted to control them and didn't agree or disliked their beliefs or culture.

    2. The Africas were treated with no respect from the Europeans. They shouldn't be treated this way just because the Europeans didnt agree with their beliefs. So what if they have a different culture then the Europeans because it's their right to believe in what ever they wanted. No oe should be pressured or forced to change their beleifs for anyone.

  9. 1. Europeans changed african culture. europeans influenced their culture onto the africans, such as their religion, way of living and language. some african languages sound very familiar to french because french had a big influence on the african culture. europeans made africans change their way of life because they didn't like it.

    2. europeans treated the natives terribly and didn't care what they believed in. europeans killed over 10 million africans. converting the natives were wrong because the europeans didn't take into thought about the ancient beliefs of the natives. cultural superiority was the biggest reason for converting the natives. europeans did this to the natives because they thought they were better.

  10. 1. The Europeans changed much of the African culture. They changed the Africans' belief and way of life. The Europeans converted the Africans into Christianity and they made them adopt the European way of life. The Europeans did not like the way that the Africans danced because they said it called upon demons.

    2. The Europeans did not have the right to force the African to change their beliefs. The Africans had the right to believe in what they wanted. People shouldn't go around forcing other people to change their belief only because they think their beliefs are better or because they see other groups as a lower class group.

  11. 1) The Europeans brought Christianity into Africa because they wanted the Africans to be converted. Not all African traditions were lost or forgotten, the tradition was African and European.

2)This is not right, for example, it is like Africans trying to covert Europeans from Christianity to their religion and traditions. The Europeans would not want that. Same for the Africans, they would not want that and their religion should not be taken away.

  12. 1.Once the European began to live in Africa, Africa's cultural began to have a great influnce from the Europeans. The Europeans impacted their cultural by changing the ways Africans did their tradition, faith, and their social culture. The Europeans saw that their way of life was wrong and changed it by changing their beliefs and taking some of their tradition just as dancing.

2.Europeans tearted the Afrians as a lower class, and didnt have respect in them and what they belive. The Europeans forced them to belive in Christanity, and burned their beliefs in front of their eyes saying your God is dead, now you must believe in ours. I strongly disgree with the conversion of christanity beause of the Africans had the right to chose in whom they want to belive in.

  13. The African's culture was effected dramatically by the European influence. The Europeans changed the religious beliefs of the Africans into Christianity. The way the Africans had ot pray made them scared, becuase that had to close their eyes and they didn't know what the Europeans will do to them. The Africans also held church services and even though they spoke the word of God, they spoke their native languages.

In some ways, what the Europeans did were good and bad. In a good way, the Europeans wanted to spread their knowledge and religion. The Europeans wanted the Africans to benefit from the spiritual experience the Europeans went through. It was a bad thing for the Europeans to be forceful with the Africans and their religion. The Europeans had no right to make the Africans become Christians with no say in it. The Europeans saw the Africans has less then human. They treated them bad and killed them with no mercy.

  14. 1. The Africans culture was affected as soon as the Europeans took over. It all happend very fast and dramatically. They Europeans changed everything they believed in. They soon converted most of Africans into christians. Christianity became a huge part of African culture. They figured sense their belief and their culture never seemed to work or follow through, they would turn to a new God and a new faith. After religion changed morals and faith the Africans began changing their culture drastically. The Europeans changed African society for ever.

    2. I disagree with the conversion of christianity because the Europeans did it disrespectfully. They burned the African faith into ashes in front of everyone to see. Then forced the Africans to convert to christianity. I think faith should be up to the people who choose to follow. It was wrong for the Europeans to take away something Africans knew and beleived in their entire life.

  15. 1.When the Europeans came to Africa, they started to try to take over the way the Africans lived. The Europeans wanted to spread their culture, so they tried to introduce new traditions and customs to the Africans. The Africans were forced to change their culture so they started to get accustomed to both cultures little by little. The Africans mixed both cultures together to keep their culture and make the Europeans happy as well.

2.I disagree with the way the Europeans treated the Africans. The Europeans came and just forced the Natives to convert to Christianity. They burned the Natives’ old culture statues so that they can forget it. I think the Europeans should have let them be and convert to Christianity if they wanted to.

  16. African culture developed into a mixture of European and African traditions because the Africans were introduced to Christianity which wasn’t known to Africans before. The Europeans main purpose was to have Africans adopt to their culture and customs.

The treatment of Africans by the Europeans was unjust. The Europeans did not have the right to change the Africans faith. This was a huge change to Africans and would be to anybody who has had their own beliefs for years. They treated Africans as inferiors and as a lower class.

  17. 1. The Europeans tore the Africans from their religion and converted them to Christianity. Africans were also forced to sacrifice certain parts of their culture, such as their traditional rituals, and become more like the Europeans. Even their language began to resemble a European dialect.

    2. The Europeans believed they were better than the Africans. However, that immoral belief did not give them the right to force their religion on the Africans – who already had their own culture prior to European arrival.
